Columbus Walk
The Columbus Walk to Cure Diabetes was held at Rotary Park Saturday, October 13th, 2007. With the support of 31 Corporate Teams, 22 Family Teams, and 11 School Teams, all totaling 263 walkers, the Columbus Community is projected to raise over $105,000! We will be accepting additional contributions in our Atlanta office until November 13th.
We would like to extend a special Thank you to our lead volunteers Dian Naman and Mary Scarbrough as well as all of the outstanding corporate affiliates who continue to help JDRF strive for a cure!

Though the Columbus 2008 Walk for a Cure is not until October, Stephanie Callahan, Columbus Board chair of school projects, has been hard at work. Stephanie is going to schools, meeting with principals and PTA officers to get the school involved in fundraising activities. |
| On March 7th, East Columbus Magnet School held a Caps for a Cure event. Students paid a $1.00 to get to wear their favorite cap all day. It was also during National Dr. Seuss Reading Week. Pictured is Stephanie with the sixth grade class to whom she read, "Oh the Places You'll Go". This event raised almost $150.00. Stephanie has an event planned at Britt David Elementary and has planning meetings at several other schools. It's never too early to start! |
