Since its founding in 1970 by parents of children with type 1 diabetes, JDRF has awarded more than $1.4 billion to diabetes research. More than 80 percent of JDRF's expenditures directly support research and research-related education.  

Our Special Events help to increase awareness about juvenile diabetes in a fun, lighthearted atmosphere.  Events also generate over 75 percent of our yearly funds and provide the backbone for our annual fundraising efforts.  Each event is made possible by its dedicated participants and volunteers, and we need your help.  Please consider joining one or more of our event committees or Public Outreach Groups and help us in our quest in finding a cure.
