Family Network has you covered from A (Abes) to Z!!
Are you ‘in touch’ with the Family Network program? Family Network is a group of dedicated volunteers, coming together to offer support, encouragement, and programming for families of children with diabetes. Recently diagnosed, or a tried and true veteran - it doesn’t matter here. We all have something to contribute, and we all have much to learn.
 |
For recently diagnosed children:
Bags of Hope contain a variety of educational and comforting support materials—some geared to the child, and some geared to their caregivers—the most popular of which is Rufus, the Bear with Diabetes, but also includes a support video, children’s books, and an Accu-Chek Blood Glucose Meter.
Please SIGN UP for your area Family Network and to receive a Bag of Hope for your recently diagnosed child today.

The Family Network is made up of many committees, and is headed by Julie Abes. Committees include:
- Mentors
- Support Groups
- School Site & Community Outreach
- Hospital Visitors
- Walk to Cure Diabetes- Family Walk Teams
- Family Events, including Sugar Show, Summer White Water Party, Halloween Carnival and Age Events.
These committees work throughout the year to provide services to our JDRF families, and there is a place for every willing volunteer. If you’d like to get more involved with JDRF, or are seeking assistance in a particular area, the Family Network might be just what you’ve been looking for. If you’d like more information, please contact Julie at jabes@jdrf.org.
