Letter Writing

Writing a letter to your representative can be one of the most effective means we have to affect change. The more a representative knows about an issue the more the can elective they can be at instituting legislation.

When writing a letter there are a few things to think about:

  • You can either handwritten or type the letter
  • Try and keep all the information to one page. Representatives receive lots of mail, the more concise you can be the strong your message will be.
  • In the first paragraph talk about you personal connection to diabetes.
  • In the next paragraph, make your request for action on the issue.
