SUGAR SHOW 2008 was a huge success this year!  We had over 500 family network members attending a day of fun at Philips Arena.  The morning started off with everyone meeting our many sponsors and vendors showing their latest and greatest products for those with Type 1 diabetes.  Sessions were held in the arena covering topics such as continous glucose monitors, school issues, latest research findings, and insulin pumps.  The teens also had a special session covering issues from driving to college with Dr. Muir.  While the parents were listening and learning, the kids were entertained on the Hawks court--facepaining, storytelling, clowns, and a magician kept them happy! 

As the day rolled on, we entered the CNN center for a support group meet and greet, followed by a crazy birthday party for HARRY the HAWK.  To complete our day, all of the families and volunteers attended the ATLANTA HAWKS vs. NEW YORK KNICKS game and Atlanta won the game!  It was great to see all of our families there, coming together for learning, support, and just good ol' FUN!   Hope to see everyone there next year!
